Vroom vroom! Gearheads and hot rod enthusiasts will love taking a stroll through the Memory Lane Classic Cars Museum in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. This private collection by Jerry and June Smith features 9 decades worth of automotive history — 100+ classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Explore the 42,000-square-foot museum with oohs and aahs while checking out a load of hot rods you’ve only dreamed of.
Previously located in Hiawassee, this car museum now overlooks Lake Chatuge in Young Harris, GA, so it’s a beautiful experience inside and outside! After touring the car museum, you can start an outdoor adventure or enjoy water fun nearby in Towns County. And if you prefer more activities, you can attend the Memory Lane Classic Car Show in spring!
Tour the Car Museum
Walk through this classic car museum on a self-guided tour (about 1-2 hours) with family and friends. Restored classic cars are at every glance, and occasionally, you’ll come across motorcycles, trucks, and even NASCAR vehicles.
There are also neon signs and automotive memorabilia throughout the museum. Posters give more information on special pieces in the collection, and you can always chat with the friendly employees…who also LOVE cars!
Take Home a Hot Rod
Yep, if you spot a muscle car you like, it may just be for sale…for the right price. Of course, you can always check ahead of time on the Memory Lane Classic Cars Museum website. You might score a 1956 Chevrolet Bel-Air or a 1967 Chevy Impala Convertible!
Gift Shop
Not up for buying a full-size classic car on your vacation? Check out their merchandise and take home a model car instead! There are also T-shirts for souvenirs, and it’s a great auto museum shop to grab a gift for any car lover in your life.
