Traveling to France, Ireland, Washington, Sequim, and other parts of the world with high-quality lavender fields inspired the creation of Red Oak Lavender Farm & Shop in North Georgia 9 years ago. Featuring stunning gardens with 4,000 lavender plants — with plans to double in size in 2022 — Red Oak is the largest lavender farm in Georgia. They currently grow 19 varieties of lavender to create all-natural lavender products, including their popular lavender essential oil. Red Oak also grows Dahlias, Zinnias, sunflowers, and other flowering plants that are gorgeous. Ideal for families and friends, plan to visit Red Oak Lavender Farm in Dahlonega on your next trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Red Oak Lavender Farm
Nestled on 5 acres of land, Red Oak Lavender Farm is a beautiful property with a pond and picnic tables on the grounds plus nearby vineyards and riverways to explore. The farm is typically open from February or March through mid-December for visitors and welcomes families to experience the different varieties of lavender and flower gardens and check out their unique gift shop. June is the best time to see the rows of lavender in full bloom! Red Oak even hosts a lavender festival in summer.
Lavender is grown in harsh conditions in North Georgia compared to their native soil in Provence, France, so visiting the lavender fields and seeing so many blossoming lavender flowers is truly a unique experience, especially for the Southern United States. You can also try spirits infused with Red Oak lavender at the Moonrise Distillery in Clayton. And the farm offers seasonal events and classes, like halo making, harvesting, wreath making, and distilling.
More than lavender is grown at this lavender farm in Dahlonega. Here, you’ll find many flower gardens to snap selfies and take in the sweet scents of budding and blossoming plants on a self-guided farm tour. U-cut or U-pick is also offered at times, so you can create your own bouquet!
