The View Best cabin in Blue Ridge! "Worst management team taking care of it"!
We've been going to this cabin twice a year for the last five years. It's an amazing location and has everything you could want for a relaxing trip to the mountains. This year we had to cook our steaks inside on the stove top because there was not enough propane to use the grill. The arcade game wasn't working for the first time ever which we always looked forward to playing. The front porch on the main level was so slick with algae and mildew you couldn't walk on it after it rained. Water was dripping through the exhaust fan in the basement if someone on the main level was in the shower. A giant hair ball or something was floating in the hot tub and when we turned on the jets it smelled like rotten eggs. It stunk so bad everybody got out and never got back in. The new management team taking care of the property is doing a terrible job. The owner of the property should be very concerned with the way their property is being managed. Be prepared to take out the trash about twice a day. Bring your own trash bags. A bathroom trash can is what you get for the main kitchen. New management on the cabin is desperately needed!

We got there after dark and the gps wasn’t giving us exact location. It took us half an hour to find it, although we were in the neighborhood. This was not fault of anyone. After we found it, all went well. I didn’t use the upstairs shower because there was no hot water. My husband later found that the hot and cold is reversed. No big deal.

Great place for a get away.
My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at The View in October. The trees have definitely grown so you can’t see the mountains as well, but we found the place very clean, with comfy beds, and plenty of space. It was nice to have a bedroom and bathroom on all 3 levels. Communication with the property mgr before check-in was great. The video directions came in handy as well. Our one and only challenge was driving up and down the mountain during the fall with tons of leaves on the steep road. Thankful to have sport mode on our SUV. Also I do not recommend arriving there the first time after dark, we ended up getting out of the car to make sure we were turning onto the steep driveway (and not off the road) b/c it was so dark. Reflectors or some sort of motion lights would definitely help.

The View was a beautiful property and home! Fairly easy to get to and a great location and access to mountain bike and local Vineyards. If we could change it request anything we would need better and more towels, upgraded pillows and a better stocked kitchen … we were a group of 4 adults.

Relaxing Getaway
The property is absolutely beautiful! Dishes were clean, appliances were new, and there were enough towels for all of us. The game room was so much fun, and an awesome touch to the house. There was a little confusion with the instruction book on the coffee table versus what was sent to our email as far as departure instructions. I think the book should be updated. May want to bring flip flops for the balcony, the nails are coming up in some areas so I wouldn’t advise walking barefoot. The patio that the hot tub was on could use some scrubbing too, there was moss and is very slippery. We enjoyed our time together as a family.

Great get away
House was as described in the listing. The “View” was not. There were a lot of trees that have grown too tall to actually see the view. Otherwise the house was great. Do not rely on GPS to take you to this property or you will drive off the mountain. I do recommend following the directions that are given in the email.

Very clean cabin!
Host was very responsive and super helpful. Cabin was spotless. Felt very homey. Lots of antique decor. Due to tree growth the view is no longer quite the panorama advertised. But still beautiful!! Three nice bedrooms, one on each floor ensures extra privacy. Pool table is very nice. Pool table showing some wear. This cabin is overall showing some age but they’ve done an excellent job at keeping it clean inside. No place for kids to run around if you have little ones. It’s sitting on top of a mountain. Steep ride to the top. 4 wheel drive not necessary though.

The View!!!
Property was in a wonderful location. Access to Blue Ridge and Mc Cayesville was great. Only minor issue with the rental was that the utensils and silverware need to be updated so that there are plent of forks and serving ware.also another pan would be great. We truly enjoyed our stay even on the rainy day as there were fun games in the game room. Thank you

Great place all in all. Difficult to get too but that’s all cabins in that area. Biggest issue was that the trees facing the back are overgrown, and so our view was pretty much blocked and did not look like the pictures. If the trees out the back porch were trimmed then it would have been perfect.

Amazing Getaway
The View was perfect for our family vacation. The beds were comfortable, the view was amazing, the hot tub was hot, and the kids had a blast in the downstairs game room. The drive is a bit steep but the car handled it fine in low. We would definitely recommend this property.

Amazing View
Amazing place to stay. The view was spectacular; breath-taking sunrises and sunsets. The road leading to the property is a white-knuckler. Make sure you get there before dark as it is secluded without street lights. Off the beaten trail, and yet close enough for food stores. Merciers Orchards; Blueridge Trails horseback riding and Bear Claw vineyards were fun.

Location is excellent, very close to Mercier Orchards and minutes from Wal Mart and downtown Blue Ridge. Management is very nice and very responsive to any issues or requests. OPPORTUNITIES: Hot Tub was not drained and cleaned between prior renter and us (could smell the urine). Propane on grill ran out after 15 minutes of use. Kitchen had salt and pepper, but would be a nice touch if there was a least a couple of the basic cooking spices (garlic salt/powder, paprika, hot sauce). OVERALL: Excellent cabin and would definitely stay there again.

Lots of space, nice sized bathrooms and bedrooms. Two fireplaces that were so pretty. Of course the view was spectacular. The cabin is in a very quiet area so we could hear the breezes in the frees and the crickets tranquil. When we arrived the main floor bathroom toilet was not working properly...we called right away and no one contacted us or fixed it and we were able to work around the inconvenience. All in all it was wonderful.

The Hot Tub was great, and the place was beautiful. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was the darts for the dart board had no tips, and the skee ball table was still usable, but broken. I am sure that this has been overlooked--but the kids were excited for the game room! Everything else was wonderful!! Can't wait to stay again.

Cabin was very clean and had anything we could have ever needed. Absolute gorgeous view, used the grill every night and it was clean and worked great. The fireplaces are a little difficult to light at first, mainly because the pilot lights were not already lit but took a couple minutes and we had em going with no problems. Really the only thing we didn't like was the creaking and loud floors. Didn't matter during the day but was loud to the people on the floor below us at night when going to bed. If it is cold outside make sure to keep the fireplace going downstairs, otherwise it gets a little cold even with the heater on. Only got in the hot tub once but it was very clean and relaxing!! The couch downstairs needs to be replaced but other than that it was great!! Beds had clean linen and smelled like fresh laundry and mattresses were very very comfortable. We will return to this cabin in the future and recommend that you do the same!!

BREATHTAKING VIEWS AND CABIN DECOR, RELAXING, AND ROMANTIC!

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at several cabins through kaylor mountain cabin realty management company over the years, and this cabin, The View, is by far the best experience thus far. The View is at the very end of the road who it has the best views being that it is the highest in altitude. The rustic decor was unique and tasteful. We loved the coconut jars and antique photos throughout as well as the rustic furniture. The game room was fun with loads to offer - pool, arcade games, ski-ball, checkers, and foosball. We also watched a movie and the generous supply of movies offered a great selection. There were books as well for the guests to enjoy. The swing on the screened in porch offered a shady retreat while we were grilling out. The view from the back of the cabin was breathtaking and at night you could see so many stars in the clear sky. The best part of falling asleep in the super comfy king-sized bed in the loft was that there was a window cut out of the wall allowing guests to see the city lights at night across the mountain range and wake up to the sunrise without even having to get out of bed! It was super romantic and relaxing. The weather was perfect too, hovering around 74 during the day and in the mid 50s at night. What more could you ask for? LOVED our stay and HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CABIN to anyone looking for a ROMANTIC GETAWAY or LUXURY RETREAT!!!

We fantasized about staying for a week and never leaving the property it's that lovely. 5 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge and 10-15 to the Aska Adventure Area and Lake Blue Ridge, the location was perfect for us. The only suggestion I would make is to the management company regarding the printed directions to the cabin itself. They stated "7th cabin on the left", when "the cabin at the end of the road" is MUCH more clear, especially when trying to count cabins that are few and far between at midnight.

The cabin was amazing. The scenary was incredible, and the stay was extremely relaxing. I would (and have already) recommended this cabin (and Kaylor Mountain Cabins) to friends. We didn't see a lot of wildlife other than a couple snakes and a bunny. One of the snakes found its way to the screened in porch and scared one person from our group. He was sitting on the porch swing when the snake slithered between his legs and popped his head up to say hello.. haha The other snake and bunny were found outside in the back half of the property. All in all this was a fantastic stay and we plan to do it again in the future! Thanks! Jen

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was amazing and beautiful. You simply must put a fire in the fire pit and soak in the hot tub at the same time. I was a little disappointed on the maintenace of the cabin. The dart board in the basement had no working darts, the skee ball game electronic scoring was broken, you had to play with the plug of the arcade game to get it to stay turned on, the middle floor's shower was only good for a bath as the shower wouldn't turn on and the mirowave control panel is loose and the #2 button didn't work, so you can't cook something for 2 minutes. Little things that didn't dampen our fun in the least, but probably need looking at. All in all it's a fantastic cabin, a great view, very comfortable and a great time. The Kaylor folks were so nice and quick to help. The dryer broke the first day we were there and they had a repair person out the same night and a new dryer in the cabin the next morning. Amazing service!!!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay. We couldn't decide whether we wanted to stay in the cabin and relax because it was so beautiful and peaceful or if we wanted to leave the cabin and enjoy other activities in Blue Ridge. This was such a great experience for us and we will definitely visit again. This was everyone's first time ever vacationing in a cabin and we all agreed to do it again very soon. I loved it, my husband loved it and our friends loved it. I almost forgot about the view, that in itself was worth it!

View was amazing…Hot tub was nice and clean. Beds were comfortable. Family loved the game room. Only complaint is the cleanliness. Lots of Knick knacks that could use dusting and cob webs on the deer heads, tv stand had thick dust behind and sides, etc. also, weather was nice and opened a few windows that the sills were full of debris and dead bugs. Bed comforters and blankets could use a good cleaning. We did not use them and thankfully brought our own quilts. Being pet friendly, clean carpets would have been nice. I did bring Lysol spray for peace of mind. The top deck outside definitely needs an upgrade! Overall our family had fun.

My wife and I stay at The View for her birthday weekend from March 12-15. The check-in process was easy, and we were able to find our cabin without any issues. Originally, the plan was for my in-laws and daughter to join us on the trip, but it just ended up being the two of us. The View would've been perfect to accommodate everyone had all been able to come. The upstairs bedroom was large and came with an en suite. The main level bedroom was easily accessible and conveniently located next to another full bath. The bedroom in the basement would've been great for my daughter and it also had its own bathroom. The views from the balcony were gorgeous, and the location of the property was extremely convenient. We were just a few minutes away from downtown Blue Ridge. We also enjoyed a great winery nearby. The kitchen was a nice size and had almost everything we needed to enjoy all of our meals in the cabin. A few of the instructions throughout the cabin were a little contradictory, so we struggled with how to operate the gas fireplace initially, but we quickly figured it out. We only had a few issues. The biggest of these being the state of the hot tub. There was signage stating that the hot tub is cleaned before each new guest arrives, but we found the cover with standing water on it. As it had not rained in a few days, we realized it had not been cleaned that day. The cover had mold on it, the hot tub itself smelled like a marina, and the smell only got worse when we turned the jets on. This was especially disappointing as my wife was really looking forward to spending lots of time in the hot tub. The internet at the cabin was also extremely slow. We usually cruise for our vacations, and we've always had better internet on every cruise ships than we had at the cabin. If you're just going for a weekend getaway and don't intend to use the internet a lot, this won't be an issue. My wife and I both work remotely, though, and we both had major issues trying to get any kind of work done during our visit. The only other minor annoyance was that the floors in this cabin are very squeaky. Since it ended up just being my wife and I, it wasn't too big of an issue (unless I was pacing waiting on the internet and got a sharp eye cut from my wife), but had the rest of the family come, I'd have been worried about waking everyone else up in the morning if I were the first to get up and about. Overall it was a great trip and we enjoyed the cabin. If the hot tub and internet issues are resolved, we'd absolutely stay at The View again!

The property was clean and cozy. Stunning view but not enough comfortable seating for sitting on the deck. House needs some exterior love. Would have given higher rating but the road to the house is in terrible condition.

Property has beautiful views. Cabin is clean. Easy to find. Roads are rough. Floors are very squeaky, so it’s impossible to be quiet if you’re the first one up. Had a few issues with the downstairs toilet. Overall it was a great family vacation. Would stay there again.

Great experience
This cabin was a great choice. Overall it was comfortable, relaxing and and a beautiful view not only from the deck but can be seen in the mornings from the master bed room. What a wonderful way to wake up. The kitchen was functional although some new sauce pans with lids would be nice. Other areas for improvement are better pillows on the beds and the entire cabin needs a deep clean / dusting. These are all minimal things and I will definitely be renting this place again.

Overall, the trip was exactly what we needed: a time to relax and be refreshed. Communication with the host was excellent and timely. The location was excellent and felt very private. The house was literally the last one on the street. Be aware! Low profile cars will struggle to access it though but our sedan did not have any problems. The cabin was clean but it was dated and needs some TLC which is why I am not giving this a higher rating in my review. Also, the hot tub needs some intensive maintenance -- the cover had a large build-up of mildew on it, the water had a musty/moldy smell to it, and when we tried to use the blower setting, it gave off a strong and unpleasant sulfurous odor.The view truly was stunning and we had amazing sunrises each day. One other minor deterrent, there was more road noise than I expected but it wasn't unbearable.

Property Needing TLC
On the plus side, great view and clean and newer appliances.However not as represented in listing. Neither gas fireplace worked nor did the main floor TV. Front deck covered with algae and mold and rotting (unsafe) . Only outdoor furniture are several plastic chairs. Worse feature is the wooden floors are brittle and creak loudly when you walk on them so it's impossible to move about the house without disturbing others, especially at night. We were scheduled to stay 4 nights but left after the first. There are better places to rent.
