Even though the road leading up to the cabin was a little bit of a climb, the house is well worth it. The setting is beautiful. We left the curtains wide open in the master bedroom so the morning light was the first thing we saw. How beautiful to see the sun just coming up over the trees. We were there from Oct 16-20. It was just the two of us so we only used the main level. We did enjoy our daily afternoon “whine down time” in the hot tub. Warning: Walking down the steep driveway is tricky. We do a lot of walking at home but going down the steep driveway is harder than you think. We got smart and just drove our suv down the driveway and from there we took our walks. No sense in taking a chance on falling and breaking a leg or arm. There is only one clock in the whole house. We were surprised to see it on the front panel of the refrigerator! I know everyone has a cell phone but there’s a nice big mantle that a nice size clock would look so nice there and maybe one in the master bedroom would be nice. Downtown Blue Ridge is one big area for tourists. Lots of people but very few buyers and after looking at the prices, I totally understand. A nice place to eat is called The Tavern. Great food. You have to go to Mericers Apple Orchard. Wow, the number of people that shop there is unbelievable. We fell in love with their Apple Cinnamon donuts (with powdered sugar) and their Apple bread. If you want a Great Lobster Roll, then head over to The Cove in Morgantown. It’s a little place on the corner and it makes the best lobster rolls I’ve had since we were in Maine. Thank you for allowing us to visit your great home. It’s beautiful and a lot of love and pride went into it. You thought of everything.
