After a day at the swimming pool or on Lake Petit, unwind on the sofa in front of the big screen TV with Netflix, sip cocoa by the gas fireplace, shoot some pool, whip up a snack in the fully equipped kitchen, unwind on the screened-in deck, and then climb into a cozy bed with quality linens for a great night’s sleep. 

Owls Nest has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with space to sleep up to 8 guests. A nice mix of bedding is great for a family or friends, with 2 king-size beds, 1 queen-size bed, and 2 twin-size beds. From the conveniences of home to plenty of upgraded extras, Owls Nest has all you need for a great getaway in North Georgia! 

Living Room

Plush sofas and a cozy recliner are situated around the fireplace in this fresh, open living room. Sit back on the sofa with your feet up on the ottoman, sip a drink, read a book, or flip on the new flatscreen TV. With Netflix and live TV, you can stream your favorite shows, turn on the news in the morning, start a new series, or have a movie night in the comfort of your beautiful vacation home. 

Gather here after a morning hike, a day trip to visit scenic North Georgia towns, or an afternoon of lakeside fun. Reconnect with friends and have fun with family in the welcoming living room of this lovely mountain retreat! 

Kitchen

The fully equipped kitchen in Owls Nest is outfitted with all you need for meals, snacks, and drinks at the home. Easily clean up after dinner with the dishwasher, bake treats in the oven, simmer meals on the stovetop, pop bagels and toast in the toaster, brew some coffee for your morning jolt, and reheat leftovers in the microwave. 

There is ample counter space for prepping meals or setting out a buffet of snacks on game day, and it’s also fully stocked with bakeware, pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. And with a grocery store within the community, it’s easy to keep your gorgeous house rental stocked with all your favorite ingredients, snacks, and drinks. 

Dining Area

Sit down for meals together at the beautiful light wood table in the dining area. Set on a rug with a pop of color, this table has bench and chair seating, a modern light overhead, and space for meals or games. Set a beautiful holiday tablescape, pack up a picnic lunch, or just order pizza and relax. 

When mealtime is over, clear the table to take care of some work, have a homeschooling station, do a puzzle on a rainy day, or play board games and card games brought from home. Kids will love piling up here for breakfast as cartoons play in the living room nearby. Or you can send the kids to bed and enjoy a romantic dinner in this lovely space. 

Rec Room

The rec room in Owls Nest is beautifully designed and furnished with all you need for some fun around the house. Shoot a few rounds of pool beneath the ceiling fan or play card games or a board game at the card table in the corner. 

When you’re not playing, make yourself comfortable on the beautiful leather sofas. Kick your feet up on the ottoman and turn on the big screen TV for movies and shows. Or you can slip away here for an afternoon nap or a good book. 

Bedrooms

Bedrooms in Owls Nest have been designed with guests’ comfort in mind. There are 4 bedrooms in all, with 3 bathrooms and space to sleep up to 8 guests. One bedroom has 2 twin-size beds, a kids’ table and chairs, puzzles, and space for kids to hang out. Two of the bedrooms have king-size beds, and the other bedroom offers a queen-size bed and the comforts of home. While there are great places to enjoy time together in Owls Nest, guests will also appreciate these peaceful bedrooms within the home. 

Outdoor Spaces 

Stroll up to Owls Nest and be greeted with a charming exterior, lush wooded surroundings, and a flat, paved driveway – with parking for 4 vehicles. Stroll around the property for some fresh air and enjoy the serene surroundings or have a nice meal at the dining table on the deck. Deck chairs overlook the trees and offer a peaceful spot to chat, sip, and unwind. 

Owls Nest also has a lovely screened-in deck where you can start your day with coffee or tea, sip lemonade on a sunny day, or enjoy a cocktail at the end of the night. Flip on the ceiling fan on summer days and have a cookout with the gas grill. 

Other Amenities

Owls Nest is fully outfitted for a fantastic North Georgia stay, so you’ll have all you need to feel at home. Take advantage of Wi-Fi in the home or stay on top of laundry with the washer/dryer here. And of course, you’ll have access to all the amenities in the Big Canoe Community.

When you stay in a Big Canoe vacation rental, you’ll have access to the private, gated community’s long list of amenities. The community sits on 8,000 sprawling acres and features a 27-hole golf course, clay and hard tennis courts, a fitness center and sauna, a spa, restaurants, a post office and grocery store, lakes, a marina, outdoor swimming pools, a rockslide, playgrounds, a dog park…the list goes on and on! 

While some community amenities in Big Canoe are free, others may require an on-site fee — please note this is not included in the rental price.

Local Fun 

Owls Nest is tucked among the trees in Dawsonville, Georgia in the Big Canoe Community. But when you venture beyond the community, you’ll find plenty to do in the mountain towns of Ellijay, Jasper, Dahlonega, Blue Ridge, Helen, and more. Atlanta is just about 1 ½ hours away as well, so you can visit aquariums, museums, ballparks, and beyond.

Stop by for a scenic day at the Red Oak Lavender Farm! Enjoy rolling lavender fields, gardens, and the Cottage Shop with fresh lavender, essential oils, lavender ice cream, and fresh eggs!
