Fox Ridge

Experience the breathtaking, 50-mile southern view of Big Canoe, Georgia, and the Atlanta suburbs from Fox Ridge – a gorgeous house rental for families and friends. You will feel spoiled from the moment you walk inside. The cabin rental has a rustic farmhouse feel with cedar paneling throughout, a stacked stone wood-burning fireplace, new furnishings, exquisite beams, and hardwood floors. This 2,100 square foot home has 3 bedrooms, a loft, and 2.5 bathrooms to sleep 10 guests. The main floor has a king bedroom with its own bathroom, the terrace level has a queen and a king bedroom that share a bathroom, and the loft has 3 twin beds and a full bed.  

Cook any meal, from a quick breakfast of toast and eggs to a complete 4-course meal in your fully equipped kitchen. You have all of the pots, pans, utensils, and dishes with only the ingredients, recipes, and chefs of the group to provide. Enjoy the spectacular views near the top of Sanderlin Mountain, looking out the large windows from inside the cabin or from your screened-in porch and large open deck. Rocking chairs and an outdoor dining area that seats 8 provides lots of seating that allows you to enjoy nature at its fullest. 

Shopping, restaurants, activities, and events are just a short drive into town in Dawsonville, Georgia, or beyond to Jasper, Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Atlanta, and beyond.  Or you can enjoy the 8,000 private acres of Big Canoe and its many amenities. With 2 playgrounds, 20 miles of hiking trails, a 27-hole golf course, 16 clay and hard tennis courts, 3 lakes for fishing and boating, 4 swimming pools, a fitness center, 7 restaurants, a grocery store, and more you can be spoiled without ever having to leave the gates of the community.

Living Room
Getting to enjoy the exquisite scenery on your drive to Fox Ridge is just the bow on the gift. Walking inside you are met with beauty, elegance, and comfort in the decor, furnishings, and amenities. The living area is lit with the rays of the sun pouring through the large windows that surround the room. A plush sofa with a matching chair and footstool invite for a cup of coffee in front of the beautiful stacked stone fireplace (wood burning), a chat with your bestie as you drink a glass of wine and catch up, or a good book being read under a blanket by lamplight. 

The indoor rockers can be enjoyed in the mornings as the sun warms and the caffeine wakes. Plan a night in to enjoy your big screen TV and stream one of your favorites on Netflix, find a show or game on cable, or pop an oldie in the DVD player and snuggle in with popcorn and snacks displayed on the coffee table for convenience. This common space is open to the dining room and loft area and has access to the screened-in porch and deck to keep everyone connected but also able to enjoy different activities. 

Kitchen
Just a few steps from the dining area is the elegant and fully equipped kitchen. You are met with sleek stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a dreamy farmhouse sink with a window above that looks outdoors and brings extra light to the space. The butcher board island is an impressive piece of furniture and gives extra prep space for cooking or baking anything in your kitchen. 

Make a quick breakfast of toast and eggs to go with your coffee or enjoy having the time to cook a full dinner of parmesan chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, carrot souffle, broccoli casserole, and a banana pudding for dessert. Yum! Your kitchen has all of the pots, pans, and cooking utensils to aid in the cooking process as well as dishes, glasses, and silverware to serve your delicious meal. Make a run to the market and keep all of your fresh ingredients, milk, and even your leftovers from last night’s meal at Buffalo Luke’s in your full-size refrigerator. A stove with an oven, as well as a microwave, are ready to help prepare any meals or snacks and you also have a dishwasher to help make cleaning up quick and easy. 

Dining Room
A chunky wood table with seating for 6 is found between the living area and the kitchen. It’s close to the kitchen for convenience in serving and for seconds and close to the living area for extra seating on the couch or for those still watching the game as they eat. This table is perfect to bring everyone together to enjoy all meals and can also be used when playing games. Choose one of the board games the property has in its collection or remember to pack a few of your group’s favorites to play and make lots of fun memories as you play.  

Bedrooms
After a full day of shopping and antiquing in some of the best shops in North Georgia, everyone will be exhausted and ready to climb into fresh linens under warm spreads and comforters for a great night’s sleep. On the main floor, the master bedroom has a king-size bed with its own updated, full bathroom. A huge sliding glass door offers a view of the outside as well as access to the wraparound deck. The upstairs loft has one full-size bed and three twin-size beds that offer a comfortable place for 5 of your guests to sleep. It’s a great place for the kids to sleep and have the feel of a sleepover, with lots of talking, giggling, and calls from parents to “be quiet and go to sleep.” 

On the terrace level, there are 2 bedrooms; 1 with a queen-size bed and 1 with a king-size bed. These 2 bedrooms share a full bathroom and both have access to a large private deck. The rooms all have an inviting warmth and impressive wood ceilings with wooden beams to add to the beauty.  All of the bedrooms have TVs as well as dressers to help keep clothes neat, tidy, and more like home. 

Outdoor Spaces
Fox Ridge offers so much comfort and beauty indoors, and the glorious views and outdoor spaces make this a more than perfect choice for your vacation, getaway, or retreat. The screened-in porch is accessed from the living area and is also connected to the spacious wraparound deck. This screened-in area has seating for 4 to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and chat in comfort. The wraparound deck can also be accessed from the living area as well as from the master bedroom on this level. Enjoy rockers, Adirondack chairs, and a table to gather around for a game of cards or to eat the juicy burgers from the grill (gas).

A private deck with rockers can be found through the other two bedrooms so everyone has a place to enjoy the sun coming up, the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature, and the absolute beauty of the mountains in the distance. When driving here, enjoy paved roads and parking for 5 cars when you arrive. 

Other Amenities
Pack fewer clothes knowing you can use the washer and dryer in your luxury rental home. Bring a laptop if you have to do a little work or check emails and know you will have Wi-Fi for all of your devices. And you can stay cool in summer with air conditioning throughout the home. Choosing Fox Ridge located in the Big Canoe Community means you also get to enjoy all the extras the community has to offer as well. Use the clubhouse, play tennis at one of 16 courts, soak in the hot tub, play at the 27-hole golf course, swim in one of 4 swimming pools, go fishing/boating in one of 3 lakes, or enjoy 2 waterfalls and the 10 hiking trails. They also provide a grocery store, a post office, a chapel, 7 restaurants, picnic areas with lake views, and a fitness center.

While some community amenities in Big Canoe are free, others may require an on-site fee — please note this is not included in the rental price.

Home Restaurant
Locally sourced ingredients and menus are prepared daily to entice and add a splash of surprise to every meal. Choose from appetizers, salads, sandwiches, artisan pizzas, and mouthwatering entrees. Make dine-in reservations or call and place an order for pickup. 

North Georgia State Parks
Stop at overlooks for breathtaking pictures, visit waterfalls, hike trails, and cool off in streams along miles and miles of state parks in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 

Swan Drive-In
The Swan Drive-In theater was built in 1955 and is a staple attraction in the North Georgia Mountains. Enjoy buttery popcorn, funnel cake, and a night of memories as you watch a movie on an outdoor screen listening from your vehicle.
