This 2,850-square-foot vacation home is located at the base of the Appalachian Mountains Range in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Big Canoe, Georgia, between Jasper and Dawsonville. It’s only about 1 ½ hours from Atlanta. With room to sleep 10 guests, this property is ideal for a family retreat, a girl’s getaway, or even a bachelor’s trip. 

Spread out, relax, and take it all in at this awesome North Georgia rental home. The living space invites with its large picture windows letting in light and the beauty of the mountain landscape creating a calm atmosphere. Throw some logs on your wood-burning fireplace on those cool evenings, turn on Netflix, and chill on your plush furnishings as you watch from your big screen TV. Wi-Fi allows streaming, or you can pop in a DVD if you have a group favorite. Sip a hot cup of coffee in the mornings while sitting on your porch and taking in all the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Or you can stay cool with the air conditioning and fans throughout this Big Canoe vacation rental. 

Your vacation rental is the perfect combination of comfort and luxury. The 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms have 2 king-size beds, 1 queen-size bed, and 2 twin bunk beds, lots of large windows, and places to gather inside and out. Any meal, appetizers, or snacks can be prepared in your fully equipped kitchen. With cookware, bakeware, spices, dishes and glassware, you only need to supply the recipe, ingredients, and capable hands to make it all delicious.

The Big Canoe Community is close to many activities, restaurants, and lots of shopping.  You will not only enjoy getting away for some fun and adventures, but you will also enjoy all the added amenities the community has to offer. Outdoors, you have access to hiking trails, waterfalls, swimming pools, lakes for boating/fishing, tennis courts, and a golf course. Indoors, you have restaurants, a clubhouse, grocery store, post office, fitness center, and a chapel just to name a few. There is parking and even a plug share for electric cars too. Living Area
The entryway offers a beautiful wood bench ready to take your bags and invites you into the main living area. Curl up on the large, plush sectional for a movie night with everyone’s choice of snack spread out on the coffee table, side tables, and sofa table. Pop in a DVD, stream using the Wi-Fi, scroll through the channels of Dish Network TV, or find something on Netflix to watch on your big screen TV. 

If books are more your speed, claim your spot tucked into the corner of the room. You have an ottoman to offer prime coziness, windows to offer light, and finally a side table and lamp to round out the perfect reading nook. If you visit during the cooler months, you get to enjoy the warmth from the wood-burning fireplace as well as the ambiance it provides. A wall of windows invites the sunlight and the beauty of the outdoors to be appreciated year-round. 

Kitchen
Open to the living room and dining area, the kitchen allows you to still connect with everyone while cooking and preparing meals. Savor your morning coffee sitting at the bar or use the space to prep and serve food for meals or snacks. Any leftovers from brunch at 61 Main along with groceries and fresh ingredients can all be kept in your full-size refrigerator. 

Along with an oven, stove, and microwave to help with any cooking and baking, you have a coffeemaker, toaster, and of course, a dishwasher for quick and easy cleanup. The beautiful wood floors and cabinets warm the room as the light, stone countertops brighten along with all the sunlight that floods the space. Prepping is made easier with an extra sink and plenty of counters. Eat a quick breakfast at the bar that seats 3 or just sit and chat with the cook while the meal is being prepared. 

Dining Area
Conveniently located just steps away from the kitchen, serving and seconds are made easy. Gather around the table for a meal or for a quick game of Go Fish with the little ones. Pack everyone’s favorite board games and have a fun game night with the ball game playing in the living area so everyone can keep up with the score. Check opening/closing times or email on your laptop here using the Wi-Fi and taking advantage of the high speed internet. 

Bedrooms
After a long day and memories made at Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville, everyone will be ready for a warm, comfy bed to get a great night’s sleep and be ready for the next adventure. The 4 bedrooms await with fresh linens, soft pillows, and warm covers. On the main floor, you have a choice of 2 bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and access to a bathroom. The lower level has 2 bedrooms as well, one with a queen-size bed and the other with 2 twin bunk beds with a bathroom for the two rooms to share. 

Dressers and closets provide space for organization to keep from having to live out of your suitcase. All the bedrooms are beautifully decorated with wood accents in the bedside tables and sitting chairs. Fall asleep reading a few chapters of your book with the warm glow of the bedside lamp or watch a little TV to let your mind settle. The rooms also have decorative rugs that add to the beauty as well as provide warmth and comfort. 

Outdoor Spaces
Throw a few burgers on the grill (propane) and have a picture-perfect meal around the large outdoor table that seats up to 8 with the kiddos throwing water balloons in the yard. Afterwards, play a competitive game of Rook, Spades or Skip-Bo. Don’t forget to pack all the games. Pour a glass of lemonade or wind down with a glass of wine and have a long-overdue chat with your bestie as the sounds of nature sing in the distance. 

Other Amenities
Knowing there is a washer and dryer, you can pack less and have one less chore when returning home. Plan a day to stay close to Mountain Acres Retreat and take advantage of all the amenities the Big Canoe Community has to offer. Spend some time outside hiking one of the many trails, swimming in one of 4 pools, fishing in one of 3 lakes, playing tennis on one of 16 courts, or golfing at the 27-hole golf course. Eat at one of the restaurants, workout at the fitness center, or grab fresh ingredients at the grocery store and more. 

While some community amenities in Big Canoe are free, others may require an on-site fee — please note this is not included in the rental price.

Family owned and operated, they brought the coast to the mountains. Signature dishes like She Crab Soup and Gulf White Shrimp served from fresh seafood every day. If you go on Friday or Saturday you can order their mouthwatering prime rib. Your tummy will thank you.
