Tucked among the trees of the North Georgia mountains – about 1 ½ hours from Atlanta and an hour from Blue Ridge, this welcoming vacation rental offers a peaceful, serene setting – with all the comforts of a modern home. 

Start with a breakfast made in the fully equipped kitchen of this rental home that features stainless steel appliances, lots of counter space, and ample dishes, glassware, and utensils. Sit down for coffee and breakfast at the dining table together or sip some tea at the breakfast bar. Then cozy up in the living room that’s furnished with a comfortable sofa, armchairs, a big screen TV, and a stone fireplace (wood-burning) for those cool nights after a day in the mountains. 

Outside, get some sun on the open deck that has tables and chairs or unwind on the covered deck that has a fireplace, a grill, and a dining table with seating for 6. Ready to play? The rec room has plush seating, a flatscreen TV mounted on the wall, and a ping pong table for some fun! You’ll also have easy access to the deck here, along with lots of sunlight through the windows. 

At night, retreat to the beautiful bedrooms. There are 2 queen-size beds, 2 full-size beds, and 2 twin-size beds in all, offering sleeping space for up to 9 guests. Find conveniences including ceiling fans, full bathrooms, closets, and more – ensuring each guest feels right at home. Additional conveniences include a washer/dryer, Wi-Fi, and access to the community’s many amenities! 

Living Room

As soon as you step inside Choctaw Lodge, you’ll be greeted by the beautiful living room. This fresh, open space boasts a big screen TV on the mantel, a lovely stacked-stone (wood-burning) fireplace, a plush sofa, matching armchairs, and a coffee table for drinks, snacks, or books. On those cool North Georgia nights, get a fire going and listen to the crackling as you sip some hot cocoa and chat with loved ones. In summer, flip on the fan (or enjoy the home’s air conditioning) and relax after a fun day of kayaking, fishing, and exploring the miles of trails. It’s also a wonderful place to start your mornings, with lots of light streaming in through the many windows. 

Kitchen

The fully equipped kitchen at Choctaw Lodge makes mealtime easy. When you’re not enjoying a meal at one of the 6 restaurants within the community, make your own meals here! Easily clean up with the dishwasher, reheat leftovers or pop popcorn in the microwave, simmer veggies on the stovetop, bake cookies in the oven, and keep ingredients and drinks cool in the refrigerator. 

There is ample counter space for prepping meals or setting out a buffet of snacks, and the kitchen also has both a Keurig coffeemaker and a 10-cup drip coffeemaker for the group. Find knives, dishes, mugs, and plenty of tools for cooking in this bright, fresh space. 

Dining Area

The dining area is just off the kitchen and features a table with seating for 6, plus additional chairs in the corner. Extra guests can spill over to the breakfast bar, take their plates to the living room, or head outside to enjoy meals on the decks! Set beneath a nice chandelier, it’s an elegant place to enjoy some fresh-caught fish or a homemade meal.

When mealtime is over, clear the table and make this your family game night hub! Pack your favorite board games and decks of cards, make snacks, grab drinks, and settle in for the night. On rainy days, break out a puzzle or color and craft with the kiddos. It’s also a good spot for catching up on some work, knocking out that school project, or doing homeschool for the week. 

Rec Room

Furnished with a plush sofa and a plump chair, the rec room is a comfortable space to unwind and hang out. Play around on the ping pong table or cozy up on the sofa with a book or a drink. Relax and enjoy quality time with family and friends in this laid-back space. There is also a flatscreen TV mounted on the wall, and it has Roku and Netflix so you can stream all your favorite shows. 

Bedrooms

Bedrooms in Choctaw Lodge offer a nice mix of bedding for your group. The main bedroom upstairs has a queen-size bed (with a balcony), and a second bedroom features 2 full-size beds and a twin bed, along with a full bathroom with a shower/bath. Downstairs, find 1 queen-size bed and 1 twin bed, plus a bathroom. The bedrooms offer a variety of amenities, including ceiling fans, closets, and bathrooms to make getting ready that much easier. 

Outdoor Spaces

Enjoy the beauty of Big Canoe from the outdoor spaces at Choctaw Lodge. Sip a drink in the shade on the covered deck, have a glass of local wine on the balcony at night, or sit down for dinner at the dining table on the screened-in deck. A new grill here is great for steaks, burgers, and fish caught in one of the community’s lakes! There is even a nice fireplace here for a cozy setting. 

Want some sun? Step out onto the open deck that has a high-top table for 4 and a cafe-style table. Enjoy the trees all around, have a snack, and just hang out on a laid-back mountain day. Of course, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors within the Big Canoe Community. This 8,000-acre gated community boasts miles of hiking trails; 3 lakes for kayaks, boating, fishing on Lake Petit, and more; a marina; lake views and mountain views; community swimming pools; a 27-hole golf course; playgrounds; pickleball; and much more!

Easily access the Choctaw Walking Trail just behind this house rental. The clubhouse is just a 2-minute drive away, and the driving range for the 27-hole golf course is within walking distance of your mountain retreat!
